The Mighty Pen

In this world of Smart Phones, PDAs and Laptops; I wonder if people even use pens to write anything, let alone pencils! So while the world is going digital, I am traveling back in time.

It was during my 5th grade that we were allowed to use ink pens. The ball pens came into existence quite late. I am sure those who've lived in the 1990s, would know the joy of carrying those 'China' pens and other fancy ink pens, with the bottle of ink along in your school bags.

A day wouldn't pass by without 'getting inked' by these pens... the uniforms, handkerchiefs and worst would be our hands... But we would thank god then, at least we didn't have to worry about making a jolly!

So today I pulled out my old pen box from the attic, and look what I found a 'China' pen. And yes I remembered that I did have ink too... so I filled it up and was ready to write... that's when the ink leaked a bit and I had those 'jollies' all over my hand! Had a small laugh, while the memories of childhood flashed in front of my eyes.

The mighty pen... writes smooth even today!

Awe... I miss those days. I have always had a fascination for stationary, and pens top the list! I still have about a hundred pens in my little house, with practically 0 usage! Sometimes I'll hook one of them to a book, to save the page from getting lost :D
